WE DO JOKES 101 - FOR THE TECH IMPAIRED ONLY !

99.9% of the time when people have trouble on a video site, it is operator error (or simply lack of experience). Please read the entire outline below carefully, and you will find that it could be as simple as clearing out saved files that the internet stores on your computer (below, we explain how to solve that problem). Another simple solution is to update your Adobe Flash Player (again, below we explain how to solve that problem). EDITOR'S NOTE: My General Manager was having problems with his computer at home and complained that the website was not working properly. When he was viewing videos, they would stall. I went to his house, cleared out his Temporary Internet Files, and informed him that he needs to do so around once a week, or when problems occur. He is now doing it regularly, having no problems -- the positive item is that it did prompt us to create We Do Jokes 101 to help those people who need assistance. I can't go to everyone's home when they have a problem, but if you do follow the steps below, you will enjoy using our site. And should you incur further issues with our site, feel free to e-mail me (wedojokes@gmail.com) or contact me on the site, and I will endeavor to help you. Thank you. -Jeff M.-Editor-
1. Head on over to Adobe and download the newest version of Adobe Flash Player. This will iron out any bugs the previous versions of Flash had, and allow you to view our site with the software it was designed for. Click HERE to download the latest version (currently 10). Head through the installation process and restart any of your browsers. You shouldn't need to restart your computer, but if you would like to be on the safe side, go for it. 2. The next step to viewing our site in all of its glory is to make sure you have a suitable internet connection. Dial-Up users (a.k.a. 56K'ers) need not apply. You can still probably enjoy some of our social networking tools, but the videos are certainly out of the question. We recommend having at least a 500 kb/s down speed. This will ensure the hiccups, jitters, and annoying 'stop and start' symptoms of watching videos online are all but gone. SIDE NOTE: Most of the We Do Jokes produced videos are under 10MB in size, give or take a select few. User generated content can, however, be as much as 200MB in size. You can tell the difference between our videos and user generated videos by searching for the user, "WeDoJokes" in the global search located at the top of the home page. We also have our logo in the bottom lefthand corner of each video. 3. The current browsers that we have tested We Do Jokes.com in are Internet Explorer 7 (IE7), Google Chrome, and Mozilla Firefox 2.0+ (FF 2.0+). For the best experience, we recommend using either Firefox or Chrome. Click HERE to download the latest version of Mozilla Firefox. Click HERE to download the latest version of Google Chrome.
Now that you've got your browser of choice, you need to make sure its "cache" is completely cleaned out. Here, we will outline each of the 3 browsers and show you, step by step, how to remove pesky files that can slow down your browsing. A. Internet Explorer Open Internet Explorer. Up at the top of the browser, you should see "Tools". Click on it. In the drop down menu, there should be an option called, "Internet Options". Click on it. This should pop open a new window with a bunch of tabs. Make sure you're on the "General" Tab. The different categories located in this tab should be as follows: "Home page", "Browsing history", "Search", "Tabs", and "Appearance". We're interested in the "Browsing history" category. There should be two buttons called, "Delete..." and "Settings". Click on "Delete". This should pop up another window with, yet again, more categories. Now here's where the work begins. Internet Explorer saves Temporary Internet Files, Cookies, History, Form Data, and Passwords. There is really only one culprit here that needs to be taken care of and that's the Temporary Internet Files. Hit the "Delete" button located in this category, hit "Okay", and all of that unimportant data will be wiped clean. Now you're ready to start browsing! SIDE NOTE: Although Cookies, History, Form Data, and Passwords are categories that haven't been known to alter the experience of We Do Jokes.com, there are some instances where these could be wiped clean to better your stay here. If you think deleting these may help, and you are absolutely, positively sure you have all your passwords saved and favorite sites bookmarked, feel free to get rid of all of these files. They can and will replace themselves as you browse, so a regular cleaning (maybe once a week) is recommended. B. Mozilla Firefox Open Mozilla Firefox. Up at the top of the browser, you should see "Tools". Click on it. In the drop down menu, there should be an option called, "Clear Private Data". Click on it. This should pop open a new window with the following categories listed as follows: "Browsing History", "Saved Form and Search History", "Cache", "Cookies", "Offline Website Data", "Saved Passwords", and "Authenticated Sessions". As with Internet Explorer, there's only really one category you need to take care of. Check the "Cache" option, and hit "Clear Private Data Now." This will wipe out all of your Temporary Internet Files. SIDE NOTE: As said with IE7, the other categories haven't been known to alter the experience of We Do Jokes.com, but there are some instances where these could be wiped clean to better your stay here. If you think deleting these may help, and you are absolutely, positively sure you have all your passwords saved and favorite sites bookmarked, feel free to get rid of all these files. They can and will replace themselves as you browse, so a regular cleaning (maybe once a week) is recommended. C. Google Chrome Open Google Chrome. Up in the top right hand corner, there should be a "Wrench" icon (Google's cute way of saying "Tools"). Click on it, and you should be presented with a drop down menu. Click on "Clear Browsing Data", and you should be presented with another pop up window that looks nearly identical to Mozilla Firefox's setup. We are only looking to clear the "Cache" here, so check off the "Cache" category, select the time period you want to delete it from (preferrably "Everything"), and hit "Clear Browsing Data". You should be good to go! SIDE NOTE: As said with IE7 and FF, the other categories haven't been known to alter the experience of We Do Jokes.com, but there are some instances where these could be wiped clean to better your stay here. If you think deleting these may help, and you are absolutely, positively sure you have all your passwords saved and favorite sites bookmarked, feel free to get rid of all these files. They can and will replace themselves as you browse, so a regular cleaning (maybe once a week) is recommended.
